Is POSLavu PCI compliant?
All of the payment gateways and swipe devices we are integrated with are fully PCI compliant and secure.We do not handle any unencrypted, sensitive data. Lavu's secure servers are 3rd party hosted through Rackspace. The server hardware is held to the same standards of PCI compliance.
What happens when my internet connection goes down?
Our cloud-based software requires a constant connection to our secure servers.If you are concerned about your connection or its reliability, a 3G/4G backup connection may be the answer.
What is included in a complete system?
As a software company, Lavu Inc. sells the POSLavu software license and provides secure hosting for a monthly fee.A complete system will also include the preferred hardware required to run our software. We can order hardware, install, configure, and provide frontline support for your complete system.You can also perform a self-installation. Contact us if you have questions.
What type/size of restaurant can use POSLavu?
From small coffee shops to large fine-dining establishments, POSLavu software can be scaled to fit any operation and has the features to support it. We can also handle multi-location accounts and corporate-level clients.
What Internet connection do I need to run POSLavu?
For Cloud-only services POSLavu requires a constant and reliable connection to the Internet.
Minimum speed required is 2 Mb/s Download & 1 Mb/s Upload.For optimal performance we recommend 6 Mb/s download and 2 Mb/s upload.
Does the POSLavu license come with an iPad?
It does not. The price includes only the license fee. All equipment, including the iPad, needs to be purchased separately. Take a look at our hardware here.
Should I get USB or Ethernet printers?
USB is usually recommended for a wireless network. They are also cheaper and easier to set up and maintain. If you own a small location or you think thick walls and other obstacles may block your wi-fi signal, you can run wires and choose an Ethernet printer instead.
Does POSLavu's monthly fee include tech support?
Yes. Lavu provides Tech Support directly to their customers. You can contact tech support here or calling (855) 767 5288.
Does this system require a separate “server” computer to run the wireless printers, etc?
No. POSLavu allows you to print directly from the iPads, and it is fast.
Why is there a monthly subscription?
Part of the advantage of POSLavu is cloud computing; that benefits our users in many ways:
- Monthly subscription is needed to cover the cost of hosted dedicated server.
- Free software updates FOREVER!

- Future integration with many web applications (Facebook, Open table, Quickbooks.. etc)
Can it be set up with most merchant service companies?
Yes. We have partnerships with some of the main credit card processors that will give you access to most merchant providers at discounted rates.
Is your app available for iPhone or iPod Touch?

Will the base magnet of the Grip Pad have any effect on my iPad?
No. The iPad uses solid-state memory to store data, not a magnetic hard drive. As a result, you can use magnets around it without any issues. However, we do recommend keeping your Pad Grip a minimum of 8" away from your laptop, desktop computer, or any other device that uses magnetism to store data. In short, treat your Pad Grip as you would any other magnetic device.
Do I have to use an iPad / iPhone? Can I use Android or other? Can I use my Laptop?
NoWait is only available for iOS (iPad, iPhone, iPod Touch). This is the most robust and secure platform. It also is the only one that features a handheld (iPod Touch) that doesn't require a phone or data plan.
Will my customers get spammed?
Guest privacy is of paramount importance to NoWait. Customers may opt-in to marketing messaging, but are otherwise not messaged.
Does NoWait integrate with restaurant pagers?
NoWait can work side-by-side with restaurant pagers, and several of our customers do use pagers. Using NoWait's Notes field, it's easy to record a pager number.
Does the customer need to have a smart phone?
Nope! NoWait sends text messages, so any phone that receives a text message (smart or dumb) can be notified. Standard rates apply. Nationally, NoWait restaurants see about 90% of their guests use their cell phones to be Notified that their tables are ready
Do restaurants in my town use NoWait?
NoWait works with restaurants all over the U.S. and Canada. Contact us to learn about restaurants in your area. NoWait can provide a restaurant operator for you to speak with as a reference
What happens if I exceed my monthly parties?

Can I add a party to the list without a phone number?
Yes, simply add the guest to the wait list without a phone number. These guests will have to remain on-site to be notified that the table is ready.
What do I do if a party doesn't return?
Move on to the next party in the list to seat guests quickly and keep tables full. If a party doesn't return, remove them from the list and the stats report will track this. If a guest returns very late, the host can always restore the guest to the main queue using the History tab.
Can I customize my messages?
Yes, customers that signup for a Monthly Plan can customize their messages. NoWait also extends message customization to those customers running a trial. Contact NoWait to learn more about customizing messages.
How many times can I notify a party?
You can notify a party as many times as you like but only once every 2 minutes.
If my guests message me, can I message back?
NoWait provides standardized messaging for guests, and managers can change these on the online portal. Hosts cannot send custom texts back-and-forth to guests, as this slows down operation.

Does NoWait offer price discounts for multiple location groups or other reasons?

Can I turn off some of the messages? Can I turn off messages without having to upgrade to a plan?
NoWait provides full message customization with the Monthly Tiers. Contact us to start a 2-week trial with custom messaging, including turning off messaging that you do not wish to use.
I only go on a wait 2 days per month. Can I use NoWait?
